Big success for FacilityApps and Cleaning Workx at Interclean 2026: VR training wins two prestigious awards
AMSTERDAM, April 15, 2026 - During the grand opening of Interclean Amsterdam 2026, FacilityApps, together with its specialized training label Cleaning Workx, became the big winner. The innovative Virtual Reality (VR) Training for Cleaners won both the Amsterdam Innovation Award (Smart Technology & Digitization category) and the Cleaners Choice Award.
Recognition for the new industry standard
The win in the Smart Technology & Digitization category of the Amsterdam Innovation Award (AIA) is considered the highest technology recognition in the cleaning industry worldwide. The independent expert jury, led by Michelle Marshall, praised how FacilityApps bridges the gap between technology and people on the shop floor with this solution.
The judges stated, "FacilityApps shows with this VR solution that technology and AI does not have to be complicated to make a huge impact. It is a multilingual, approachable platform that directly increases employee engagement. In particular, the combination of realism and direct linkage to certification resulted in an exceptionally high score for innovativeness and practicality.
The ultimate accolade: The Cleaners Choice Award
As icing on the cake, the organization also received the Cleaners Choice Award. Whereas the Innovation Award confirms technological superiority, this public award stands for direct value in daily practice. The jury, consisting of (former) finalists of the Cleaner of the Year election, chose the VR training as their absolute favorite.
Jolanda Reedijk, Cleaner of the Year 2025, summed it up succinctly but powerfully at the presentation, "We looked at a lot of innovations, but with this VR training, everything just made sense to us. It's fun to do, you learn it right away and you feel really taken seriously as a professional."
